This may be the very best song in the entire universe:
If not, then Man Man is certainly the very best band–I cannot get tired of them–any of their songs. It’s really quite amazing how fantastic this group is. Last year, Rock Star and I were lucky enough to get a chance to see them live, and it was the most fun either of us had ever had at a concert. Ever. (And here I thought nothing would ever top the joy of seeing The Presidents of the United States of America at Sundown.) Listen. Love. No need to thank me.
I know this is years overdue, but I finally got a chance to watch The Pursuit of Happyness last week and sweet-mary-on-a-biscuit it was fantastic!! I loved the movie so much and just couldn’t learn to shut-up about it and the full story of Chris Gardner that Ben was kind enough to order the book from amazon for me. I’m currently anxiously awaiting it’s arrival.
And time-warping back to the ’90s for a bit, we’ve been spending our nights watching the first season of Party of Five; something I just briefly had viewed and Ben had only heard about–we are all about the ’90s people, we’re children of that decade and will be forever attached to it. And speaking of TV of yesterday, I’ve been slowly introducing Ben to the wonder that is Seinfeld–of course he loves it, any man I love must love it.
With sister learning to be a librarian and all, I’m finding I get such lucky benefits as book advancements. (thanks, Jess!) I’ve just started reading Claude & Camille by Stephanie Cowell, and despite what seems to foretell a certain corniness, I love Monet and have so far enjoyed the 50 pages I’ve read.
The weather lately has been nothing but snow and cold and grey and rain and ice and this just calls up a desire for hibernation in myself and my Rock Star. And while we’ve been having some wonderful times at home with friends lately, I’m ready for the fire pit and sandals and sangria on the porch at sunset.
*In closing, I’ll leave you with another bit of Man Man–you see, they are wonderful:
