How do two people who aren’t concerned with sports in any fashion celebrate one of the most sports-o-riffic days of the year, you ask? This is how:
Sleep late. The female wakes at 9am to partake in the very best cereal in the entire world and cleanse herself. The male wakes up a few hours later and makes a cup of coffee for himself and his mate.
At 12:30pm the couple brings their young bear-like cub to the home of the female’s biological caretakers where large slabs of freshly slaughtered cow is being prepared in the most amazing fashion; which is to say, medium-rare and unbelievably fantastic.
At 2:30pm the couple then abandons the animal at the caretaker’s home to be bothered incessantly by the caretaker’s new pup while they migrate into the larger city of Knoxville to partake in book-shopping of the used and new kind.
At precisely 4:50pm the couple can be found purchasing tickets for the motion picture, An Education.
(Which was really quite fantastic and exceeded expectations even though there was already the probable love as the director is one of our favourites.)
Two hours later the couple can be found enjoying raw fish at one of their favourite watering holes thanks to the kindness of extended families gift-giving.
After gorging themselves with hot sake, raw fish, and rice the couple slowing meander their way to the home of friends where the general answer to, “Is the Super Bowl over? Who won?” was, “dunno. hang on, I’ll check online.”
