-for those out of the loop, i have started playing bass in a cover band a few times every week. not the most amazing thing in the world, but its a great way to supplement my income, plus its fun getting payed WAY too much money for people who are WAY too drunk.-
After much searching for a bass head to suit my needs, i found a Craigslist deal on a Genz Benz Neo Pak 3.5. i contacted the seller, and he brought it to a cover gig i had last night during our break so i could try it out and use it for our second set.
thing sounds AWESOME, seriously great!!!! Prior to that i was using a borrowed Ampeg SVT 3, which sounds awesome on its own. But the Genz was SO punchy in comparison, and honestly maybe a bit tighter. My slap stuff cut through the mix better, too. Plenty of power running through the Ampeg 4×10 i was using. I’m happy, and feel like i got my $300 worth!
its in totally mint condition, with original manual and warranty card, to boot. Plus, one of the best parts… it is about the same size and weight as a VCR. my bony body appreciates that.
Now i need to find a kickass cab of my own to go with it. i’d like something lightweight, since i travel with my bass rig a few times every week. maybe an avatar neo 212, thats what i’ve got my mind on.
yay for me!
